The Power of Prayer

Having a healthy support system can include asking others to pray for specific issues we encounter. Prayer is a powerful resource that gets overlooked in mainstream mental health treatment.

Our spiritual health is part of our overall mental, emotional and physical wellness. To dismiss the spiritual part of our being can leave us missing a major opportunity for wholeness in our wellness journey.

Coming together in prayer or having another pray for us is a powerful resource!

There are many different ways we can pray, and prayer is way we can nurture asking for help.

Expressing gratitude to God for even the trials we experience alone can shift our mindsets from gloom into hope. Giving up our unknowing of the outcomes and praying to God in trust that He can work it out is a way to defeat the uncertainty that ills our minds. We can pray for specific relief of symptoms, we can pray for strength to endure circumstances. When we don't know what to pray for, we can express just a prayer for help! Our spiritual S.O.S calls can return results we'd never even imagine on our own. The first step is to know it's okay to ask for help.

Ways you can receive help through prayer:

If you a not already a member of a church/prayer group, or if you are feeling resistance to ask for prayer because you want anonymity in your personal affairs, you can reach out to one of the wonderful resources listed below!

Our beliefs set the tone for our mental health.

Our minds are powerful and can literally produce either regulation or dis-regulation in our physical bodies at a cellular level. Prayer is not only a form of meditation that calms and relieves stress in our nervous system, but if you truly believe God hears and answers in a loving response, prepare to be blown away by the results of prayer!

If you're still unsure of the power of prayer, lean on the testimonies of others to connect with hope and tangible evidence that God still answers prayers! A simple google search on "answered prayers and testimonies" can be inspiring when we're feeling doubt.

It is our belief in the power of prayer and Faith of the unlimited resources our Creator has available to help us that really yields results in prayer.
